How can I donate?

Donations can be made by phone, by mail, or in person at the East Georgia Chapter office. The East Georgia Chapter accepts cash, check, money order, Master Card, and Visa. There are other ways to donate to the chapter, though! For more detailed information on the options below, please contact Jennifer Pennington, Executive Director at 706-353-1645.

• Wills & Bequests- One additional opportunity a will provides is remembrance of a favored charity. Not only is it your right, exercisable by will, to distribute what is yours as you wish, but, by the same will, you can choose to benefit a charity such as the American Red Cross.
• Charitable Gift Annuities- The American Red Cross charitable gift annuity pays you guaranteed income for life at an attractive rate, offers tax savings, and frees you from investment worries and responsibilities. Establishing a gift annuity is simple. If you are 55 or older and you make a gift of money or securities, the Red Cross will pay you an income, in the form of an annuity, for life.
• Gifts of Stock or Mutual Funds- Donors often find it convenient to use their stocks, or securities, as a way of making gifts to charitable organizations. Making a charitable gift of stock to the American Red Cross is both economical and easy.
• Gifts of Retirement Plan Assets- Income in respect of a decedent (IRD) is income you were entitled to but did not receive during your lifetime. The most common source of IRD-and the one most likely to comprise a large part of your estate-is an IRA or other retirement plan. You can avoid the taxes on IRD-and make a significant charitable gift to the American Red Cross at greatly reduced out-of-pocket cost -by using IRD assets to make charitable gifts and leaving other assets to family members and other non-charity beneficiaries.
